An SEC team dropped from Baseball America’s latest Field of 64 projection after Week 12, but the conference produced its replacement, allowing it to maintain its nation-leading 13 bids.
The ACC (nine), Big 12 (seven), Big Ten (four) and Sun Belt (three) also received three or more bids. The Big West, Big East and Southland received two bids in the latest projection, including their automatic qualifiers.
Additional Field of 64 notes:
- UCLA, Oregon and TCU, which were projected as No. 2 seeds last week, stepped into hosting positions
- UC Irvine, NC State and Alabama moved behind the hosting line and into two-seed positions. Virginia Tech and Kentucky were the only at-large teams included in last week’s projected field to not make the cut after Week 12
- Cincinnati and Mississippi State joined the field
- Miami, Florida and Southern California moved up from projected three-seeds to two-seeds while Kansas and Xavier shifted in the other direction to accommodate them
Below you’ll find the complete Field of 64 partway through Week 12 of the regular season. Note that our projected hosts no longer reflect the top 16 of the Top 25 rankings and are instead blend of standings and metrics.
