300lb Beast With 50 College Football Offers Sends Strong NIL Message to Kirby Smart & Ryan Day

Well, NIL is getting into young minds. And honestly, who can blame them? Now, players aren’t just picking the best fit. They’re chasing the biggest check. As programs no longer lose players to poor coaching or bad seasons, it all comes down to who can offer the big bag. And this 300 lb beast has 50 sharks circling him, eager to strike a deal.

But with teams like Kirby Smart’s Dawgs and Ryan Day’s Buckeyes in the mix, NIL won’t be a roadblock. The question is, are they really willing to loosen their pockets? Because this guy’s verdict is loud and clear.

The giant beast? None other than IMG Academy’s 4-star prospect, Preston Carey. This guy received his 50th offer last weekend when Ole Miss Rebels pulled the trigger. We know that Ohio State has been rooting for Carey for some time now. He’s been on OSU’s radar since his 9th-grade visit when he first got the offer. Plus, Ryan Day has made the trek to IMG Academy to ensure they don’t miss out on him. They were already facing a tough recruiting battle with programs like Georgia, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, and Texas, who are actively behind him.

But after Preston Carey’s take on NIL, a full-blown bidding war might be brewing. He laid out his vision, expectations, and demands for his recruitment. And when he talked about it in Ohio State at The Voice of CFB, you could tell the Buckeyes are in the mix. But only if they are ready to fight for him, as he says, “I really think at the end of the day I play the game for the love of it. But that is a reality nowadays with the NIL, and that is a real factor.”

Even today, people remain in split opinions regarding the NIL. But one thing’s for sure. The players can create a brand image for themselves now and in the future. Think of Cristiano Ronaldo or David Beckham. These soccer players created a name for themselves by marketing themselves and staying on top of the proceedings.

“So I definitely have to consider that because, you know, outside of just getting great at the game of football and, you know, becoming a draft pick, you know, specifically in the first round, which is one of my biggest goals in life is, uh, you know, outside of that, I want to create generational wealth, and, uh, you know, that only can be done with, you know, having money and then investing it, so that is part of it, but like I said, it’s not all of it,” he mentioned in the interview.

Now, if we look back, Bryce Underwood might have also thought the same thing while switching from LSU to Michigan. Let’s be real; declining a $10 million lucrative offer remains tough. Can you imagine even coaches striving to get an amount like that? And not even stepping your foot on CFB’s field, and you are like a millionaire; that’s a high-selling pitch in itself. Plus, let’s not forget that making a strong pitch out of 50 programs won’t be straightforward.

Right now, it’s a free-for-all—whoever lands this DL is making serious noise. But here’s the kicker: Carey’s dream school is still in play. So, did that visit lock things up, or did it leave him wanting more? The suspense is thick, and time’s running out. He didn’t hold back his excitement, posting, X: “I am very blessed and honored to receive my 42nd D1 full scholarship offer from the University of Alabama!!!”

That’s the dream school. Sure, why not? It’s all Alabama: the stadium, the fans, the academics, the coaching. “Alabama was an offer I was waiting for,” Carey admitted, exhaling like a guy who just checked a major box.

But for now, he’s keeping his cards close. No top list yet. He made fall visits, checking out Florida and Indiana. Powerhouse programs like Georgia, OSU, Oregon, PSU, Tennessee, and Texas are in hot pursuit. Ryan Day’s got a real shot here if he plays the right cards. Moreover, other big dogs are eyeing him.

Kirby Smart might have an edge over Ryan Day in Preston Carey’s recruitment

Preston Carey has officially set his commitment date for June 30th. He will return to Long Island, New York, to make it official before returning to IMG for fall camp. Carey’s recruitment journey started early when LSU offered him a full-ride before ninth grade. He impressed colleges during a camp as an eighth grader, outperforming four-star juniors and seniors. This was when colleges recognized his potential, leading to a flood of offers.

Now, it’s not just about potential but also impact. In about a year, Carey—a game-changing, top recruit—should significantly improve the college defensive line. With a December graduation approaching, he is on the fast track to college, and top programs are racing to secure his commitment. Among them, Kirby Smart’s program stands out as a potential top choice.

As Preston says, “A really important thing that people don’t think about is the strength and conditioned program in uh colleges so I think that’s huge um you know obviously I don’t have any favorites yet but a visit I did just take in January was to Georgia and they had a great strength and conditioning staff showed us about it and everything so that’s a huge thing.”

 That’s a fact!

Georgia’s strength and conditioning team runs a well-organized program. If Preston Carey joins them in Athens, he will have the privilege of working with some of the top professionals in the field. Scott Sinclair leads the pack – the brains behind the Bulldogs’ physical prowess. He’s got LB Brown, Jordan Barber, K.J. Florence, and Markell Clark in his camp.

This combination can take Preston Carey to the next level. With more power, stamina, and explosiveness, he’ll be unstoppable against SEC offensive lines.
