Right off the bat, let’s put into context just how much of an athletic specimen 5-star Brandon Arrington is. The ATH doesn’t even have a designated position yet. Runs a 100m dash in 10.27s and a 40 in 4.38s. As a junior in high school, mind you. You’d think Arrington is destined to be a wide receiver. Comparisons to freshman sensations Ryan Williams and Jeremiah Smith are a tangible trail of thought. Brandon Arrington’s got a little Tyreek Hill to him, with raw speed akin to the “Cheetah” However, he’s also got some Pat Surtain II to him. A freakish prospect who can play both receiver and corner. The irony is not lost here. Travis Hunter just jumped off the bus, but someone’s laid claim to his seat already. Travis already has sons in the game. With so much fervor around him, Arrington has shed light on his future.
A California native from the class of ‘26, Brandon Arrington has swept programs off their feet. Quite literally. Every big-time coach in the country is making trips to visit him. He already stands at 6 ‘2, 185lb, and his biggest allure remains his versatility. 247Sports’ National recruiting analyst Greg Biggins discerns Brandon Arrington as “one of the fastest sprinters in the country,” who “on the gridiron shows the ability to play corner or receiver and should also develop into a dangerous return man,” So where does Arrington’s recruitment stand at this juncture? He’s condensed his list of potential landing spots down to 6. It’s an all-SEC and B1G affair. Amongst which one team may be creating some separation.
On3’s Hayes Fawcett announced the exclusive club over his socials. The programs left in the fray are- in no particular order- Penn State, Oregon, USC, Texas A&M, Alabama, and Georgia. All blue chips, suitable for homing a prospect of Arrington’s ilk. The player himself leveraged his thoughts on each of these programs. Including which one is after him the “hardest.” First up is James Franklin’s Penn State. Who Arrington said were his “first big offer” and have seen him the most. “I’ve always had a great bond with Penn State,” he said. However, the Nittany Lions are a bit of an afterthought in the grand scheme of this recruitment.

Dan Lanning’s Oregon Ducks currently have a top-2 ranked recruiting class for 2026. With the continued financial aid and sheen of Nike and Phil Knight boosting their magnetism. Brandon Arrington stated he and Dan Lanning “have a great relationship, and I’m big on relationships.” He even said the coach “calls me almost every day.” That said, Lanning is trailing in this process.
As for USC, they, too, boast of a top-2 recruiting class for ‘26. They and Oregon interchange depending on where you look. It’s that neck and neck. Despite this stacked roster around the corner for Lincoln Riley, he, too, trails in the race for Brandon Arrington. Albeit there’s reason to suggest he’s ahead of Lanning. USC’s new GM, Chad Bowden, claims the program is seeking to build a fence around California to keep in-state recruits home. Cali native Arrington even said, “I’ve been going to USC since I was an eighth grader,” He’s a self-proclaimed Trojans fan, too. Despite this being baked in, both west-coast programs are staring at the possibility of Brandon Arrington moving to the southeast.
“Every time I go to Alabama, it feels like I’m always there,” resounded Arrington. “I have a great relationship with coach [Kalen Deboer]” He pointed to DeBoer offering him a scholarship while he was still head coach at Washington. The early faith coach showed sticks out to Brandon Arrington. But Bama still isn’t the front-runner. The cloud of uncertainty looming over Tuscaloosa since Nick Saban’s retirement has changed the perception of the school among recruits. It’s understandable for players with a wealth of options to be cautious. That leaves a modern dynasty that knocked Bama off their perch in Georgia. Alongside the Texas A&M Aggies, who’ve been perpetual bridesmaids in the SEC over recent years.

Experts give the school leading Brandon Arrington’s recruitment a massive 86.2% shot at getting him
If you were to find the most consistently successful program in CFB over the past 7 or so years, both in terms of hardware and player development, It’ll be hard to look past the Georgia Bulldogs. The Kirby Smart era has been year upon year of positivity. Even during what was perceived as a down year in 2024, they won the SEC. Brandon Arrington recognizes this and has an official visit to Athens later this month. One he’s looking forward to for seeing “all the great things there”. But alas, Georgia too is victim to a sensational recruiting charge by Mike Elko’s Texas A&M.
The On3 RPM currently projects the Aggies to have an 86.2% chance of landing Arrington. For good reason, too. “A&M recruits me the hardest. They said I’m the top person they want on the board. So I feel like everything there is just great for me,” said Brandon Arrington. He pointed to Mike Elko being a factor pulling him to College Station. “[Coach Elko] said I could probably play both ways there, and get some special teams…so he has a plan with me. I have a plan with them, and everything goes together.” The Aggies were rocked a little last year when arch-nemesis Texas strutted into the SEC and almost won it straight away. Including a win in College Station in front of the 12th man. Brandon Arrington can help tip the balances in the conference. Coincidentally, Kirby Smart made a snarky comment at an Aggies legend some days ago.

A career-altering decision beckons for the kid. For a player still undecided on his position, the right selection becomes all the more vital.
