Maryland basketball has landed a massive commit deep into the 2025 recruiting cycle.

The Terrapins added five-star prospect Darius Adams to their class on Tuesday. Adams, who is a recent UConn de-commitment, was the highest-ranked player uncommitted in the class. Former Washington commit Niko Bundalo is the lone remaining uncommitted 2025 prospect.

The 6-foot-5 guard visited College Park, Maryland, this past weekend and also visited Georgetown. He was also being pursued by Michigan State, Alabama, UNC, Tennessee and other programs.

Here’s what you need to know about Adams’ decision to flip from UConn to Maryland:

Adams originally committed to Dan Hurley and the Huskies on Sept. 30, 2024, over finalists Tennessee and Michigan State. He even signed his letter of intent with the program on Nov. 13, 2024. However, after Hurley added guards Silas Demary Jr. (Georgia) and Malachi Smith (Dayton) from the transfer portal, Adams decided to decommit on April 19.

Ten days later, new Terrapins coach Buzz Williams successfully added the top remaining uncommitted player to his roster. Maryland lost in the Sweet 16 to eventual champion Florida in the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
