5-star WR Chris Henry Jr. makes major recruiting announcement

Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks got some unfortunate news on the recruiting trail on Tuesday when it comes to 5-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr.

According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Henry has shut down his recruitment and canceled his visits to see the Oregon Ducks, USC Trojans, and Miami Hurricanes this summer. Henry, who has been committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes for over a year, will only be taking an official visit to Columbus this offseason.

The 6-foot-5 Mater Dei product is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 9 overall player in the 2026 class, and the No. 2 WR. He has visited Oregon a number of times over the past couple of years, and has kept his line open with the Ducks despite his verbal commitment to Ohio State.

That changed on Tuesday, though, with Henry announcing that he will no longer be looking elsewhere, and locking in with the Ducks.

It’s fair to think that Lanning and his staff will keep pushing with Henry and try to maintain a relationship, but at this point, the likelihood that he flips to any other school is obviously low.
