Projection: Offensive Line Rotation
It’s hard to write about Ethan Trent without mentioning his brother Tyler, but I’ll make this the only mention in this brief article. Yes, Ethan Trent is Tyler Trent’s little brother, and that’s incredibly cool, but Ethan Trent is more than a feel-good story. While I don’t think it matters anymore, he was put on scholarship by the new coaching staff and was a part of the interior offensive line rotation in the spring, taking snaps with the first and second team offensive line.
It’s hard to know where that puts him in the grand scheme of things because Purdue brought in multiple portal offensive linemen to compete for spots this fall, but a strong spring certainly doesn’t hurt his chances of seeing the field this fall.
Either way, Trent seems like a guy in it for the long haul. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him be a regular contributor by the end of his career in West Lafayette.
