Conway, Ark.- Rahul Nathan has accepted a position with the Detroit Tigers to work in Professional Baseball after serving in Hendrix Baseball’s Analytics Internship Program for 2023 – 2024.
“The amount of information available for scouting in college baseball has expanded so much in the past few years.
Breaking down that information and putting it into simple usable formats is vital.
I saw first hand the benefits of having an analytics person in the cape the past two summers so when Coach Marsh brought up the idea of having guys volunteer to work remotely to assist our program we jumped on it.
It’s a great program because it’s mutually beneficial. Our program benefits from their hard work and they are able to use our program as work experience to apply for job in MLB. Rahul is a great example, and Michael could be the next guy to get a job using his work experience with our program.” – Coach R.J. Thomas
“Rahul has made an incredible impact on our ability to prepare for an opponent. I had worked with Rahul in the past in a similar role where he dominated every task. I was thrilled that he wanted to be a part of our program last year. He worked selflessly for the benefit of our student-athletes and we are really excited to see him get the chance to do it at the professional level. I will always be rooting for your career, Rahul, and will be forever grateful for your time working with us at Hendrix.” – Coach Matt Marsh
Information about Hendrix Baseball Analytics Program:
The Analytics interns work remotely on providing information for scouting reports, development plans, player evaluation and practice plans leading into a series to assist the Hendrix Baseball staff in and out of season. This season currently have 3 analytics interns with Nick Kane (Surry, ME), Michael McCavinn (Boston, MA), who is currently interviewing for MLB positions and former Hendrix Baseball standout, Jack Hodgins (Simi Valley, CA).
Their efforts allow the baseball staff to take a ton of information and break it down to make it simple for our players to understand and compete freely. They provide a ton of value to our players in their ability to prepare.
Nick is back for his second year with us and has come out on his own multiple times to see games and practices. Michael is in his first year with us after serving in a similar role in the Cape Cod League working for the Harwich Mariners. Jack Hodgins is in his first year in this role after placing his name next to several pitching records in the Hendrix Warriors record books. Jack will lead pitching analytic efforts.
