Garion Thorne dives into Wednesday’s eight-game NBA featured slate to find three undervalued players to use in your DraftKings lineups.
We’ve got a massive NBA slate this evening, but pay close attention to the featured contests on DraftKings. They’ve lopped off the west coast section of Wednesday’s schedule to give us a nice and contained eight-game slate. #EastCoastBias, am I right?
Let’s dive in and find some undervalued players.

PF/C Jonathan Mogbo, Toronto Raptors at Charlotte Hornets, $3,600
There are certainly options with a higher floor in the Raptors’ rotation than Mogbo. For instance, I’d assume that Ochai Agbaji ($4,600) will re-join the team’s starting lineup with Scottie Barnes (eye) having not made the trip to Charlotte on Wednesday. Agbaji’s been incredibly consistent in recent games, posting at least 27.0 FPTS in three straight. However, the raw upside of Mogbo is alluring. In the only contest the rookie has logged over 15 minutes, Mogbo finished with 12 points, nine rebounds, five assists, three blocks and 39.75 FPTS — and that was in just 23.8 minutes of action. Positionally, and from a creation perspective, Mogbo plays far more like Barnes than Agbaji. Obviously, it’ll be RJ Barrett ($6,600) that sees the most usage gain from the All-Star’s absence, but don’t forget that Barrett was limited to 28.4 minutes in his first game off the injury report on Monday. Toronto isn’t blessed with a ton of options at the four. I think they’ll have to give Mogbo some decent run.
PG/SG Bub Carrington, Washington Wizards vs. Atlanta Hawks, $4,100
Let’s stick with the rookies. The Wizards will be without their team leader in usage rate this evening, as Kyle Kuzma (groin) will sit after a monstrous performance against this same Hawks defense on Monday. That makes a lot of mid-tier assets on Washington’s roster very interesting on Wednesday. Jordan Poole ($7,500) will definitely find a way to get up some extra shots and Bilal Coulibaly ($5,200) will remain viable, even with his price tag steadily rising. Still, I want to look at Carrington. The guard is already sixth on the team in minutes and he’ll have a chance to draw his third-career start, if the Wizards choose to go back to a more traditional starting five. This is a great matchup. You can score on the Hawks. Washington put up 121 points less than 48 hours ago and both these squads rank inside the top five in pace. Environment will not be an issue.
C Noah Clowney, Brooklyn Nets at Memphis Grizzlies, $3,700
No need to get too complex with this one. It has already been announced that Nic Claxton (hamstring) will be sitting out the second night of Brooklyn’s back-to-back set, which leaves Clowney as the team’s starting big man. In the four games that the sophomore started in 2023-24, Clowney averaged 10.5 points and 6.5 rebounds. The former first-round pick should be able to improve upon those numbers this evening in what should be a great matchup against the Grizzlies. Memphis is setting up like a perfect DFS opponent through its opening four contests. The Grizzlies not only have rank 23rd in the league in defensive rating (115.9), but they sit second in the NBA in pace (105.5). Expect an uptempo script between these two teams with plenty of possessions and counting stats.
