DraftKings Value Picks
SG/SF Luguentz Dort ($6,000)
At many points, Lu Dort has looked like the odd man out of Oklahoma City’s future. The combo wing is one of the best on-ball perimeters in the league, using his shredded build and long arms to guard a variety of the league’s best scorers. He is a master at always having active hands, causing annoyance for ball handlers, and having a presence in passing lanes.
Where Dort falters is on the other end, where he is often too trigger-happy and streaky at best. He’s a career 35% shooter from distance but has hovered around 40% for the last two seasons. Dort has cut two-pointers almost entirely out of his arsenal and has shifted to a marksman from beyond the arc. He is often too fond of launching ill-advised heat checks, but Dort has been heating up.
The 25-year-old has had at least 10 points and seven rebounds in three straight outings, including 19 points and five triples in his last effort against Houston. Dort always has a neon-green light in his head, which helps his DFS potential. If he can continue to be a factor on the glass, he’ll have plenty of shots to help produce a solid showing.
SF/PF Taurean Prince ($4,000)
After being disregarded by Los Angeles in the off-season, Taurean Prince has come out of the gates firing. He leads the league in shooting from downtown, converting on over half his attempts. Prince sports a clunky handle that hasn’t developed, struggling to create for himself off the dribble. He has an excellent frame for a stretch forward but has struggled to be an impact defender.
Milwaukee is thin enough in the frontcourt that Prince gets 26 minutes a night, but his workload is erratic. He’s taken just 12 shots in his last four games, only surpassing ten fantasy points once in that stretch. The Thunder tend to leave the corners open, where Prince often operates. If the Bucks want to keep pace, they’ll have to catch fire from deep, which bodes well for a solid Prince bounceback.
