Garion Thorne dives into Friday’s three-game NBA slate to find undervalued players to use in your DraftKings lineups.
It’s the final day before holiday break for a lot of people reading this. Just know I’m very jealous. However, in the spirit of the season, I wanted to give you a gift before you go: NBA value picks of tonight’s three-game slate.
Value picks are very hard to wrap, so I just wrote them out below. Hope you understand.

SG/SF Andre Jackson Jr., Milwaukee Bucks at Cleveland Cavaliers, $3,300
I’m not going to sit here and suggest that Jackson Jr. doesn’t have a perilously low floor. His usage rate for the season as a whole is a hilariously tiny 12.1%, which makes sense when you consider his ghastly 27.0% turnover rate. Heck, the sophomore just logged 25.4 minutes in the NBA Cup Final, yet only managed to translate that opportunity into 6.25 FPTS. So, why are we talking about Jackson at all? Well, in the NBA Cup Semifinal against the Hawks, Jackson collected seven rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals in his 25.3 minutes of action. He’s not always doing a Tony Snell impression, if you know what I mean. Jackson Jr. has clearly earned the trust of Doc Rivers with his defensive effort and ability, which means he’s likely locked into at least 24-25 minutes per game. That’s a pretty large role for an asset that’s priced a hair above the minimum. On a slate this small, I’ll take my chances, especially with Damian Lillard (calf) ruled out, which should open up a few shots for everyone on the Bucks.
SG Seth Curry, Charlotte Hornets at Philadelphia 76ers, $3,000
Let’s not bury the lede here. All of Curry’s potential value on this slate is tied into the health of Brandon Miller ($8,900; ankle), who missed Thursday’s loss to the Wizards after initially being listed as questionable. With Miller unavailable, Curry got his first start since all the way back on November 1. He would go on to log a season-high 31.5 minutes, registering eight points, four rebounds, three steals and 24.5 FPTS in the process. It’s that simple. If Miller sits again on the second night of his team’s back-to-back, then Curry is super viable thanks to his $3,000 price tag. If Miller suits up? Forget that Curry even exists.
