Fantasy Basketball Value Picks: Top DraftKings NBA DFS Bargain Plays for January 10

Garion Thorne dives into Friday’s seven-game NBA slate to find undervalued players to use in your DraftKings lineups.

It’s Friday. Friday. And you know what they say: You gotta get down on Friday.

Or, in my humble opinion, you could make a few NBA DFS lineups on DraftKings and watch a bunch of basketball. Sound good? Good.

Let’s dive into tonight’s seven-game slate.

PG/SG Bub Carrington, Washington Wizards at Chicago Bulls, $4,600

There’s a lot to keep track of when it comes to the Wizards injury woes. Here’s what we know heading into tonight’s tilt with the Bulls. Malcolm Brogdon (foot) is definitely out. There’s a chance he’ll be joined in street clothes by Alex Sarr ($6,100; illness) and Jordan Poole ($8,200; hip), as the duo are both listed as questionable. If Poole were to sit out, it would be the fourth straight game he’s missed. Seemingly regardless of the active roster, Carrington just keeps starting and logging major minutes. In fact, the rookie’s played over 30 minutes in each of Washington’s past five contests. The rookie has also eclipsed 30 FPTS in three of the team’s past seven games. He’s been a little inconsistent — as you’d expect from a first-year asset — but Carrington’s certainly flashed enticing ceiling. I expect he’ll do so again on Friday in a wonderful matchup versus the Bulls. Chicago enters the day sitting second in pace (104.5) and 24th in defensive rating (115.7).

PF/C Noah Clowney, Brooklyn Nets at Denver Nuggets, $5,000

The Nets will once again be playing very shorthanded on Friday. In fact, they’ll arguably be without their three best players, as Cam Johnson (ankle), Cam Thomas (hamstring) and D’Angelo Russell (shin) are all sidelined due to injury. It does appear that Ben Simmons ($6,000) will be available to return to Brooklyn’s starting five against the Nuggets, yet his presence isn’t exactly a deterrent to prospective owners looking for value on the remainder of the Nets’ roster. Simmons is as reluctant to shoot as ever, registering a team-low 14.1% usage rate in 2024-25. You know who isn’t shy with the ball in their hands? Clowney. The sophomore big has started the past two games and has taken advantage of the opportunity, posting usage rates of 24.7% and 27.8%, respectively. In Wednesday’s loss to the Pistons, Clowney led his team in minutes (37.1), field goal attempts (20) and points (29). That translated into a season-high 47.0 FPTS. It’s unlikely he’ll be able to do that again, but I’d take 30 FPTS. Pretty please.

PG/SG Cason Wallace, Oklahoma City Thunder at New York Knicks, $3,600

I’ll just keep going back to the Wallace well until it runs dry. The former first-round pick isn’t a high-usage asset, yet he’s barely left the court in recent games, logging at least 30 minutes in six of his last seven appearances. It’s helped matters that Alex Caruso (hip) has been sidelined, but Wallace has also secured his role with on-court production. To wit, in his last two starts, the guard is averaging 14.0 points, 2.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 23.9 FPTS, all while shooting 57.1% from the field. Again, Wallace isn’t going to wow anyone with his DFS upside, but at only $600 above the minimum, I’m happy to invest in his sturdy floor.
