MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – A number of individuals with past connections to the Mountaineer football program are among the 181 players and 43 coaches who are on the 2025 College Football Fame ballot. Those who are voted into this Hall of Fame class will be announced on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 3 p.m.
To be eligible a player or coach must be nominated by a candidate’s institution. A player has to have been a first-team All-American by an NCAA recognized outlet and have last played his college football game between 10-50 seasons ago. A coach is eligible three seasons after their retirement or immediately after their retirement if he is at least 70 years of age. Active coaches are eligible after they turn 75. A coach must also have been a head football coach for a minimum of 10 years and coached at least 100 games with a .600 winning percentage.
