The Fighting Irish (14-1) narrowly edged No. 6 Penn State, 27-24, in the semifinals, while the Buckeyes (13-2) dominated No. 5 Texas, 28-14.

Former West Des Moines Valley football star Eli Raridon will also be suiting up for Notre Dame in the game. The junior has hauled in nine receptions 70 yards and two touchdowns this season and was on the field at times in the semifinal contest.
