Throughout the weekend, fans of both Notre Dame and Ohio State are all around downtown Atlanta ahead of Monday’s game.

Many of the fans attended the Playoff Fan Central event being held at the Georgia World Congress Center.

“I’ve been waiting for this game for a long time. I didn’t make it the last time they made the National Championship, so we were determined that if they made it, we were coming,” Notre Dame fan Josh Price told Channel 2′s Eryn Rogers.

Tickpick said this is the most expensive college football championship game on record and people can pay thousands of dollars just to get into the stadium on Monday.

But that isn’t stopping people from flocking to the city.

“We actually drove down. I accidentally booked a hotel that was non-refundable, so we were coming here, I was so confident that Ohio State was making it, that I booked a hotel,” Kate Wagner said.

And it’s not only hotels that are getting increased business. Fans are also eating in restaurants and visiting Atlanta’s attractions.

“We’re going to the Coke museum, I think, the aquarium,” Wagner said.

The crowds are helping small business owners like Adrien Cauthen, who owns a limousine company based out of Duluth.

“The revenue pretty much triples. I mean people come to town to spend money and to have fun,” Cauthen said.

This time of year is usually his down season.

He said the last time the championship game was in town it changed his life.

“It afforded me to get more vehicles and to have more employees, so it was a great opportunity,” he said.

Entry into the game is a tough, and expensive, ticket to get.

At last search, the cheapest ticket available was just under $1,800.
