Former Marjory Stoneman Douglas star Chris Arroyo is set to play his first year of college baseball at the University of Virginia.
Not only is he expected to be one of the top players in the ACC, but Arroyo was selected as a preseason third team All-American.
Arroyo was a 2022 graduate of MSD and went 8-1 while also hitting eight home runs. He began his college career at the University of Florida and earned a win before transferring to Pasco Hernandez State College as a two-way player.
He continued to impress, winning five games and hitting .403 with 19 home runs and 52 RBIs. Arroyo was later named to the FCSAA Division II All-Conference Baseball Team and was the Player of the Year Year and Designated Hitter of the Year before transferring to Virginia.
This season, Arroyo will make his debut in the Puerto Rico Challenge on February 14 against Michigan. The Cavaliers head into the season as the second-ranked team in the country and reached the College World Series last year after winning 46 games.
