WILLMAR — DeAndre Holloway led the Ridgewater men’s basketball team to a comeback win against nationally ranked Minnesota West Community and Technical College on Wednesday.
Holloway notched team-highs of 27 points and 14 rebounds in the Warriors’ 86-79 victory against Minnesota West in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference South Division game. The Bluejays, ranked 13th in NJCAA Division III, are 3-3 in the MCAC’s South Division and 17-5 overall. Ridgewater is 3-3 in the MCAC South and 11-7 overall.

Holloway, a freshman forward from Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg, scored 15 second-half points in helping Ridgewater overcome its 43-37 halftime deficit. He has eight double-doubles this season.
Miguel Maloney and Aiden Wichmann were key contributors down the stretch for the Warriors.

Maloney, a freshman guard from Browerville, scored 11 of his 13 points in the final 20 minutes. Wichmann, a sophomore guard from Russell-Tyler-Ruthton, had nine of his 15 points in the second half. Wichmann led Ridgewater with eight assists.
The Warriors slowed down Zackery Rygg in the second half. Rygg, a sophomore guard from San Antonio, Texas, scored 17 first-half points. He added 12 more points in the second half to finish with a game-high 29 points.
The Warriors next play at 3 p.m. Saturday against Anoka-Ramsey Community College in Coon Rapids.
