Julius Tirado has been a versatile piece for Cedar Cliff the last few years. The defensive back will now continue to make plays in college.

Tirado took to X, formerly Twitter on Saturday to announce that he has committed to play at Millersville, joining teammates Guner Hiller and Hezikyah Latini as recent Colts commits.
“I decided on Millersville because of how much the coaches put care into recruiting,” Tirado said. “Not many coaches did that throughout my journey. What truly sold me was the player panel on my visit talking about the plan to be great coming this next fall.”
Tirado said he chose Millersville over Seton Hill.
Last year, the senior had 268 receiving yards and three touchdowns on offense, but he will be focusing primarily on defense at the next level, after picking off a pass and recording 20 tackles.
“I want to get in there and develop my weight, strength, speed, and explosiveness to get on the field as much as possible until I get my starting role,” Tirado said. “And just cause I am starting out [as a freshman] doesn’t mean I won’t be competing every single day.”
He says the process has been a grind, but his family and coaches have helped him get to this point, thanking coaches like Colin Gillen, Chandler Heiple and Scott Weyant.
“Throughout my career I wasn’t the most recruited guy,” Tirado said. “I worked extremely hard with my dad [Jason Tirado] on my game, how I can grow to better every single day.”
“He taught me that there’s only one to go up a mountain and that’s up.”
He also says his mother, Ashley Shettle, was instrumental.
“I want to thank my mom for supporting me throughout everything, taking me to camps, to games in midgets and every other aspect of taking care of me and developing me as a young man,” Tirado said.
“The process being over in terms of playing at the next level feels so rewarding but at the same time it’s time to get to work to prepare to play at the next level.”
