Michigan Football Recruiting 2025: Top Remaining Recruits, Class Predictions

Ty Haywood pulled his commitment from the University of Alabama in December and a visit to Michigan late in the process has left the Wolverines the favorite to land the former five-star recruit out of Denton, Texas.

A multi-sport athlete, he also competed in shot put and discus competition. In March of 2024, he delivered his personal record of in the former with a 58-6 throw in his junior year.

The six-foot-five tackle out of Ryan High School has “huge reach” and “gradually improved quickness off the ball throughout junior year,” 247 Sports scouting analyst Gabe Brooks wrote.

He continued, stating Haywood “Possesses the physical traits and athleticism — functional and verified — to play on the outside on either end of the O-line, but might project best to a right tackle role. Certainly could provide roster depth/value at guard as well.”

There are footwork inconsistencies that his college coaching staff will have to address, and he can be driven backwards by a sudden, explosive burst by a rusher, but if they can correct those elements of his game, the tools are there for Haywood to develop into one of the college game’s best and a pro prospect.
