The Oregon State Beavers’ presumed starting infield is stacked heading into the 2025 college baseball season.
The seventh-ranked Beavers feature one of the nation’s best players at every position, multiple All-America candidates and even a possible No. 1 pick in the MLB draft.
But the outfield isn’t too shabby, either.
Two of Oregon State’s starting outfielders are ranked among the best in the nation, according to D1Baseball, which unveiled rankings of the country’s best outfielders this week.
Who made the list?
Below is a look at the OSU players included in the rankings:
(see a breakdown of the Beavers’ infield rankings here)
GAVIN TURLEY
The junior outfielder has been a force since he stepped foot on campus before the 2023 season, when he arrived as the highest-rated high school recruit in program history. Heading into his third — and presumably final — college season, Turley has amassed a .289 batting average, .618 slugging percentage, 33 home runs, 22 doubles and 120 RBIs with the Beavers. He’s in line to shatter the program’s career records for home runs (45) and RBIs (179), set by Travis Bazzana and Michael Conforto, respectively, and Turley undoubtedly will move on to professional baseball next season. He’s ranked No. 28 on the list of the top 100 outfielders.
DALLAS MACIAS
Macias, meanwhile, is ranked No. 88 on the list of the top 100 outfielders. The junior from Parker, Colorado, had a breakout year in 2024, hitting .315 with eight homers, 15 doubles, 42 runs scored and 41 RBIs in 59 games, which included 52 starts. Multiple Oregon State coaches have tabbed Macias as their pick to click this season, and the player who landed on MLB.com’s list of the top 100 prospects in the 2025 draft seems poised for a big season.
