The College Baseball Showdown 2025 is front and center this February with three weeks of back-to-back action on FloCollege, ushering in the much-anticipated return of the baseball season.
Held at Globe Life Field, the home of the MLB’s 2023 World Series champion Texas Rangers, this thrilling tournament will showcase many of D1Baseball.com’s top 25 preseason-ranked teams, all vying for a strong early-season showing to build from.
Each February, excitement transforms into sheer joy as college baseball fans across the nation witness the best players in the country taking the field with a clean slate, beginning their journey toward the College World Series.
Powerhouses from the SEC and ACC like the University of Arkansas, LSU, and Clemson will be among the teams under the spotlight, each with high expectations as they open their seasons in these pivotal neutral-site matchups.

The three weekends of competition at the College Baseball Showdown is Feb. 14-Mar. 2 at Globe Life Field. It is streaming on FloCollege and the FloSports app.

Friday, Feb. 14 | No. 17 Oklahoma State vs No. 15 Clemson
In the preseason Big 12 Conference coaches poll, Oklahoma State Cowboys were named as the favorite to win with 9 out of 14 possible first-place votes. Their road to claim that title begins on Feb. 14th in this game, the only preseason ranked match-up on Opening Day. They went 42-19 in the 2024 season.
Clemson enters the 2025 season with a preseason rank of No. 15 from D1Baseball, although they were ranked in 8th by Perfect Game and Baseball America. They return to the field with two All-Americans returning, despite losing All-American Blake Wright on third base.
Clemson ended the 2024 season with 44 wins and 16 losses.
Saturday, Feb. 15 | No. 15 Clemson vs No. 21 Arizona
The Clemson Tigers have one of the hardest schedules to start the 2025 season, facing two top 25 opponents in as many days. The Tigers are 9-3 at neutral sites the last two seasons.
Clemson and Arizona have not played each other in 35 years, the last taking place in May of 1990 and resulted in a 9-1 win for the Tigers.
The Arizona Wildcats start their 2025 season and first season in the Big 12 Conference. They were given the honor of being selected to finish second in the Big 12 preseason poll by coaches across the league.
The Wildcats finished the 2024 season 36-23.
Sunday, Feb. 16 | No. 17 Oklahoma State vs No. 19 Texas
The Oklahoma State Cowboys and Texas Longhorns have a long history of intense competition, playing each other 67 times since the turn of the century. The record currently sits at 34-33 in favor of the Cowboys with the one-game difference coming from an additional home win for Oklahoma State.
Texas heads into their first baseball season in the SEC ranked No. 19. They were picked to finish 8th in the SEC coaches preseason poll. Outfielder Max Belyeu was selected for the first team All-SEC, not too surprising after he earned the Big 12 Player of the Year in 2024.
Catcher Ryan Galvan was selected for the second team.
Saturday, Feb. 22 | No. 5 Arkansas vs No. 23 TCU
Kicking off their 2025 season in Fayetteville against Washington State, the Razorbacks won’t have much time to get their bearings before facing off against the top 25 preseason ranked TCU Horned Frogs in Arlington.
Arkansas owns 48 of the overall wins between the two while TCU has 22, going as far back as 1961. However, the Horned Frogs won all three of the match-ups in 2023.
The TCU Horned Frogs were predicted to finish 3rd in the Big 12 behind Oklahoma State and Arizona. 18-year old Noah Franco was selected as the Big 12 Preseason Freshman of the Year and will be one of the players to watch.
Wednesday, Feb. 26 | No. 3 LSU vs No. 20 Dallas Baptist
LSU ended 2024 with a 43-23 record that carried them all the way to the SEC Tournament championship game, losing by just one point against eventual College World Series national champion Tennessee.
DBU earned nine of the ten first-place votes in the C-USA preseason coaches poll after finishing 2024 with 45 wins and 15 losses. They went 5-2 at neutral locations.
The College Baseball Showdown 2025 will be the first time LSU and Dallas Baptist play each other and is both teams’ first preseason ranked opponent of the year.
Two Patriots to watch this season will be the pitcher and catcher combo of Jerrod Jenkins and Grant Jay, who were recognized by the C-USA as Preseason Pitcher of the Year and Preseason Player of the Year.
