AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – The Amarillo College Badger baseball game split wins and losses with the Blinn College Buccaneers in their Friday doubleheader.
In the first of two, the reigning NJCAA National Champions Blinn College defeated Amarillo 9-5.
Brooks Carter, the catcher, hit his first homerun in his Badger baseball career.
Payton Bush and Jacob Sullens also added two hits a piece. Bush getting a double out of one of those, and Sullens notching a triple.
In the second of two, a walk-off single from Gerardo Prado put secured the 13-12 win for the Badgers.
In the bottom of the 9th inning with the bases loaded, the Oklahoma University commit hit a deep ball that bounced off the left field wall to bring the scoring runner home.
Sullens again came up big for the Badgers, hitting his first homerun of the season, 2-3 in his plate appearances and is now batting 0.500 through the first five games of the season.
The final of three games against Blinn College will be played tomorrow @ Hodgetown, first pitch slated for 12:00 P.M. CST.
