In conjunction with the “traditional” national signing day this past week, Ohio State released a list of 27 football players who arrived on campus in January as mid-year enrollees.
The list includes 21 members of OSU’s 26-man high school recruiting class for 2025. It also includes six transfers from other NCAA schools.
There were no late signee additions to the high school recruiting class. That class was ranked fourth nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Texas, Georgia and Alabama were the top three classes with Oregon fifth.
The high school class includes three national top 50 prospects and six within the national top 100. They include Ohio QB Tavien St. Clair (ranked fourth), Texas CB Devin Sanchez (ranked fifth), New Jersey WR Quincy Porter (ranked 31st), Ohio OL Carter Lowe (ranked 72nd), Maryland DB Faheem Delane (ranked 99th) and Texas LB Riley Pettijohn (ranked 100th).
All of those players are among the early enrollees. Because the 2024 season stretched so late with the national championship game played on Jan. 20, OSU coach Ryan Day and his staff have decided to delay the start of spring football from early March until sometime after spring break. Classes resume after break on Mon., March 17. It is also unclear if there will be a spring game and/or when it may be scheduled. It is typically held in mid-April.
The full list of mid-year enrollees with heights and weights is included below.
