In the first meeting of these teams, all five of Kentucky’s starters scored in double figures, led by 18 points on 5-for-5 shooting by Koby Brea. Jaxson Robinson added 17 points on 6-for-16 shooting while Amari Williams had a double-double, scoring 10 points and pulling down 15 rebounds.
Tennessee shot just 34.7% from the floor in the loss, with Igot Milicic Jr. leading the team in scoring with 19 points. He was the only starter to shoot better than 40% from the floor, converting on 60% of his looks.
Since that game, Kentucky has floundered a bit, going 1-2 with losses to Arkansas and Ole Miss. As for Tennessee, the Volunteers have won three games in a row since the loss, beating Florida, Missouri, and Oklahoma in the process.
