Arkansas is 1-1 in Arlington, Texas, opening the weekend with a 3-2 loss to Kansas State before bouncing back Saturday with a 2-1 victory over TCU. Kuhio Aloy provided a two-run double in the top of the seventh, which proved to be the game-winning hit against the Horned Frogs.

Michigan lost both of its previous games this weekend, including a 5-1 defeat to Kansas State and a 10-4 loss to TCU.

This is the second time in as many years the Razorbacks and Wolverines have faced off in this event. The Razorbacks had to hold off a late rally last season for a 4-3 win.

Gage Wood will be the Hogs’ starting pitcher Sunday. He allowed two runs in five innings of work last week against Washington State.

Below is a look at the weekend’s remaining schedule, along with live updates from Arlington:

Arkansas baseball vs. Michigan: Live score updates

This section will be updated throughout the game.

Fourth Inning

  • Michigan keeps Arkansas off the scoreboard for the first time. Still 7-1 Hogs.
  • Dylan Carter pitches another scoreless frame to keep the Razorbacks in front 7-1.

Third Inning

  • The Arkansas bats have come to life today. Charles Davalan had a two-run single and Wehiwa Aloy singled home another run to extend the Hogs’ lead to 7-1.
  • Gage Wood had to exit the game after a warmup pitch brought the training staff to the mound prior to the inning. He was pointing at his shoulder before walking back to the dugout. Dylan Carter relieved Wood and pitched a scoreless frame to maintain the Razorbacks’ 4-1 lead.

Second Inning

  • It’s 4-1 Arkansas. Brent Iredale drove in a run with an infield single, and a Michigan throwing error on the play led to another score. The Hogs have their first multi-run lead of the weekend.
  • Three more strikeouts gives Gage Wood six through two innings. The Hogs lead 2-1 heading to the bottom of the second

First Inning

  • The Razorbacks respond and lead 2-1 after one inning. A costly error by Michigan’s first baseman spoiled a potential inning-ending double play. Wehiwa Aloy’ with a double’s double was the only hit in the inning.
  • Michigan jumps out to a 1-0 lead. A single and a hit by pitch were compounded with an error by Wehiwa Aloy.

Reading into Arkansas baseball’s starting lineup

  • Dave Van Horn’s lineup to face Michigan is below. Here are three observations:
    • Nolan Souza returns to the lineup after Gabe Fraser got a start at second base Saturday. Souza is 1 for 11 with eight strikeouts to start the year, but Van Horn is giving the Hawaiian a little leg room to figure things out at the plate.
    • Kuhio Aloy leads the Hogs with a .417 batting average and three home runs, but he’s back on the bench to face a right-handed pitcher. Until Logan Maxwell is healthy enough to play in the outfield, there isn’t room in the lineup for both players.
    • Ryder Helfrick is catching his third straight game. Freshman Zane Becker caught Gage Wood’s first start of the season, but he’ll stay on the bench Sunday. Look for Becker to get a start Tuesday against Grambling.
