With only one game left in the regular season before the conference championships, Daemen survived an overtime test in its first game as the No. 1 team in NCAA Division II men’s basketball.
The Wildcats outlasted D’Youville on the road and will play their last game at home against Roberts Wesleyan on March 1st.
After clawing their way back into the top teams in Division rankings, Colorado School of Mines men’s basketball is now ranked as a top-five team after bouncing up and down in the rankings all season.
Biggest Riser: Missouri S&T And Columbus State
- Two wins by the Miners and Cougars have moved them from No. 10 and No. 11 to numbers seven and eight.
- Missouri S&T went on the road this past weekend and won pretty handily by 14 points over Southwest Baptist and squeezed out a one-point victory over Rockhurst 78-77.
- Columbus State also played in some close battles, winning four and eight points at home against Flagler and Lander.
- Clutch wins by both teams are great practice when they compete in the conference championships and division tournament.
Largest Dropper: Dallas Baptist And Pace
- Dallas Baptist basketball was the newest team to be ranked at No. 5 last week, but after splitting games on the road, losing to Angelo State, and defeating UT Permian Basin.
- The Patriots play their last regular-season game on Thursday, a senior night game against UT Tyler, before the Lone Star Conference Championships.
- Pace also split both games, losing in the first game against Adelphi by 11 points at home before bouncing back against Saint Anselm. Due to the loss against the Panthers, Pace has dropped six spots.
- Tuesday will be the final regular season for the Setters as they are away against Assumption University.
