We all know the Arch Manning era has officially begun. Texas coach Steve Sarkisian said as much late last week. And we’re starting to see Manning do more press, like with GQ and ESPN, and sign NIL deals with national brands like Red Bull. But Manning may have become the “official” face of the program with a new hype video.
Coinciding with a town hall hosted by Texas Athletics Director Chris Del Conte, Texas Football released a new hype video that is narrated by Manning. Shots of the third-generation quarterback are sprinkled throughout the one minute video, along with footage of DKR, fans, Bevo Boulevard and games. It even includes the now famous clip of Manning as a kid in a Longhorns t-shirt saying, “I want to go to Texas.”
Manning is possibly the most famous recruit and the most famous backup QB in college football history. The hype around him will only build as the 2025 season draws closer. The nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning and grandson of Archie Manning is already the Heisman favorite. As Texas tries to continue to grow its brand, beyond joining a super conference, the marketing department would be smart to lean into Manning’s transcendent celebrity status.
“Playing for Texas was always the goal. There’s something about this place. This city, the Forty Acres, we’ve got a lotta fight in us. And you can feel it everywhere and in everything we do. Because at this place, the standard is the standard. We’ve got a (mess) around and find out mentality, because this is Texas. And we were born with Texas fight. Hook ’em.” – Texas QB Arch Manning
