Top Hitting Performances From The 2025 College Baseball Showdown In Texas

Over the last two weeks, Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, provided a grand stage for a few of the top collegiate baseball programs in the country, and the players turned out with some major-league performances.

Across three exciting weekends and 21 games, 14 programs saw action in Arlington, along with a handful of midweek matchups to keep the fun going for baseball fans in the Lone Star State and dedicated FloCollege subscribers.

While the things that impressed each of us may be subjective, we’re going to start a list here and see if you agree. Then, drop by the FloCollege | Baseball page on X to see more and share your own top moments and performances!

The season-opening schedule at Globe Life Field, home of the world champion Texas Rangers, included the Shriners Children’s College Showdown (Feb. 14-16), Amegy Bank College Baseball Series presented by Kubota Weekend 2 (Feb. 21-23) and Amegy Bank College Baseball Series presented by Kubota Weekend 3 (Feb. 28-March 2).

The midweek games were scheduled for Feb. 18, Feb. 19, Feb. 26 and March 5.

Along the way, there definitely was no shortage of big swings, spectacular defense and noteworthy pitching performances.

Here, we’ll take a look at some of the sluggers who got our attention from deep in the heart of Texas:

Wehiwa Aloy & Kuhio Aloy, Arkansas Baseball

This list isn’t presented in any particular order, but call us sentimental for putting the Aloy brothers at the top after they both homered in the same inning Feb. 21 against Kansas State.

Ignore the fact that Arkansas went on to lose the game 3-2 or that it remains the only loss for the 10-1 Razorbacks in 2025. No one is going to remember that part of the story anyway.

Watch both home runs now, and learn more about the last time the feat was accomplished at Globe Life Field.

Over Arkansas’ three games during the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series presented by Kubota Weekend 2, Wehiwa Aloy, a junior infielder, was 6 for 11 with a two home runs, a double, four runs scored and three RBIs.

Kuhio Aloy, a sophomore infielder/outfielder, played in two of the three games and was 2 for 5 with a double, a home run, three RBIs and a run scored.

Lucas Moore & Zion Rose, Louisville Baseball

Louisville opened the season with an extra-innings win over No. 19 Texas (4-3, 10 innings), and it was sophomore outfielder Lucas Moore who delivered the game-winning, bases-loaded single.

The Cardinals added a 12-3 loss to No. 17 Oklahoma State and a 13-1 victory over No. 21 Arizona to leave Arlington with a 2-1 record.

In the thriller against Texas, Moore was 2 for 5 with one RBI. For Louisville’s three games at the 2025 Shriners Children’s College Showdown, he was 4 for 10 with two RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base.

Fellow sophomore Zion Rose also had a memorable few days in Arlington, going 6 for 13 with two RBIs and two runs scored, including the winning run against the Longhorns.

Dominic Listi, Clemson Baseball

Clemson picked up a pair of wins during the 2025 Shriners Children’s College Showdown, but the thing most people will remember about the Tigers’ trip to Arlington will be the successful hidden-ball trick they pulled off in an otherwise disappointing 15-5 lost to Ole Miss.

Watch Clemson execute the play to perfection.

Across the three games at GLF, one of the players who shined offensively for Clemson was graduate outfielder Dominic Listi, who was 5 for 9 with seven RBIs and four runs.

Listi, who transferred to Clemson from Indiana State, hasn’t slowed down since leaving Texas, either.

He has started all 11 games for the 10-1 Tigers and leads the team in batting average (.405), hits (15), RBIs (14), runs (13), walks (11), HBP (five) and on-base percentage (.574).

Luke Hill, Ole Miss Baseball

Ole Miss also went for a roller coaster ride while in Arlington’s Entertainment District, and the experience included a 2-1 win over Arizona, a 10-0 loss to Texas and a 15-5 rout of Clemson to finish the Rebels’ weekend at the Shriners Children’s College Showdown.

The momentum has continued, however, and Ole Miss now is 10-1 overall and riding a nine-game winning streak.

A major contributor to the success has been junior infielder Luke Hill, who was 5 for 9 in Arlington with a triple and two home runs (all against Clemson), six RBIs and four runs.

Hill has started all 11 games for the Rebels this year and is batting .421 with 16 hits, plus 17 runs and 11 RBIs.

Maximus Martin, Kansas State Baseball

Maximus Martin, a junior infielder, helped Kansas State pick up three wins during the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series presented by Kubota Weekend 2. The Wildcats took down No. 5 Arkansas (3-2), Michigan (5-1) and No. 22 TCU (10-2).

In the finale, Martin was 3 for 5 with a game-high three RBIs and a run scored.

For the weekend, the transfer from Georgia State was 4 for 12 with two doubles, plus the three RBIs and the run.

Through 11 games (Martin has played in nine), he’s batting .467 over 30 at-bats, including four doubles and two home runs.

Jonathan Kim, Michigan Baseball

Michigan flat out struggled during its weekend in Texas, losing to TCU (10-4), Kansas State (5-1) and Arkansas (8-6), but there were some bright spots for the Wolverines along the way, including three memorable home runs.

One of the players to collect multiple hits during the trip was junior outfielder Jonathan Kim, who kicked things off with a 3-for-5 performance against TCU. He was the only Michigan player with more than one hit in the game, one of which was a double.

For the weekend, Kim was 4 for 13 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run scored.

The home runs belonged to Isaac Cadena, Cole Caruso and Robert Hamchuk.

Canon Reeder, Oregon State Baseball

Oregon State was 2-1 during the final weekend of play at Globe Life Field with wins over Baylor (4-3) and Ohio State (12-10) and a loss to Auburn (8-7).

Junior outfielder Canon Reeder had a nice weekend for the Beavers, despite not playing in their opening game against Baylor. Against Auburn and Ohio State, he was 5 for 7 with a home run and a double, plus three RBIs and two runs.

Junior first baseman Jacob Krieg and junior outfielder Gavin Turley were top-notch for Oregon State, too, accounting for the Beavers’ other four home runs over the weekend (two each).

Chase Fralick & Chris Rembert, Auburn Baseball

It was a pair of freshmen doing the heavy lifting for Auburn during the final weekend of action at Globe Life Field, and the result was a noteworthy 3-0 run that included wins over Ohio State (13-0), Oregon State (8-7) and Baylor (7-4).

Over the three games, Fralick was 7 for 12 with a double, plus four RBIs and three runs.

Rembert’s weekend included a 3-for-9 performance with a double, a home run and four RBIs against Oregon State, plus another two RBIs and another run scored. His two-run blast in the fifth inning against Oregon State was crucial in Auburn being able to hold off a late OSU surge.

Auburn now is 11-1 on the season and making a lot of noise as a potential contender in the stacked Southeastern conference.
