Nolan Arenado being stuck with rebuilding Cardinals is a shame

Cardinals superstar third baseman Nolan Arenado looks like he’s staying a Cardinal, at least for now — and that’s a shame.

If the eight-time All-Star, nine-time Gold Glove winner and three-time home run champion seems out of place in a Cardinals camp where they are taking a rare “reset,” that’s probably because he is.

“My expectation is to be here Opening Day. [That’s] until they tell me something’s going on, then guess I will adjust. But until I hear that, I’m locked in,” Arenado told The Post inside the Cardinals clubhouse in Jupiter, Fla.

“I’m not trying to cause any problems. I’ve got to be committed,” Arenado also said. “The year I had last year wasn’t the year I wanted. I feel like I’m better than that. So I’ve got to focus on being better than that. I expect to be a lot better. I have some lofty expectations.”
