Texas will hold its Pro Day on March 25th.
Expect Gunnar Helm to try to rectify his gutty NFL combine performance on a badly sprained ankle, while players like Silas Bolden and Gavin Holmes show their wares in hopes of landing UDFA interest. Several Longhorns who did well in Indy will likely be satisfied with their performance and hold off on potentially degrading their stock. Remember, the NFL Draft is April 24-26. Only 13,471 mock drafts and 337,804 more fake sources from NFL Draft Twitter to go!

The Big 12 wisely moves more games to Friday nights. Last year, the league struggled for television relevance – Colorado somewhat excepted – but they’ll move 10 games in 2025 to Friday evenings in an effort to capture some eyes on a solo stage and juice meager early returns on their network contract.
2025 Big 12 Football Friday Selections
Friday, Aug. 29 – Georgia Tech at Colorado
Friday, Aug. 29 – Auburn at Baylor
Friday, Sept. 12 – Colorado at Houston
Friday, Sept. 12 – Kansas State at Arizona
Friday, Sept. 19 – Tulsa at Oklahoma State
Friday, Sept. 26 – TCU at Arizona State
Friday, Oct. 3 – West Virginia at BYU
Friday, Nov. 7 – Houston at UCF
Friday, Nov. 28 – Arizona at Arizona State
Friday, Nov. 28 – Utah at Kansas
The premise isn’t bad – they can’t compete with SEC programming in their biggest native market (Texas) on traditional college game day, so moving some inventory to Fridays makes sense as they seek regional opportunity and some passive national eyeballs that just want to watch any passable level of football.
They’re also wisely featuring their two most attractive programs: Colorado and Arizona State.
August 29th will feature Colorado hosting Georgia Tech and Baylor hosting Auburn. They need wins.
This won’t solve their fundamental issues, but they’re trying stuff.

Look out, now! It’s a “last year wasn’t the real me” offseason renaissance article. Conner Weigman is turning heads at Houston! He’s lost weight (10 pounds!) and revealed that he got through last year on some combination of Toradol and twinkies. Word of advice to the Cougars: no magicians around their new QB. Or telepaths. Or Chinese finger traps. Or old episodes of Ancient Mysteries.

Old news, but if you didn’t watch Sark’s combine interview on ESPN, it’s worth your time. As always, he represents the school extremely well and he’s terrific at weaving in a recruiting message while still being authentic and sincere. Easy guy to pull for.
