Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love has been rewarded for his 2024 heroics with an appearance on the cover of EA Sports College Football 26.
The video game’s deluxe edition artwork was revealed on Wednesday, showing some of the biggest names in college football posing for a group photo in the empty stands of the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. And Love could be seen among them, standing behind Ohio State‘s Jeremiah Smith and Alabama‘s Ryan Williams.
A large group of college football stars and prominent head coaches took part in the Rose Bowl photoshoot on Wednesday, On3 has reported. That’s because multiple covers of the video game are expected to be released for College Football 26, the second release after the cult franchise’s triumphant return in 2024.
Those will reportedly include coaches’ and legends’ covers – the former featuring Ohio State’s Ryan Day, Georgia’s Kirby Smart, and Oregon’s Dan Lanning, among others, and the latter showing Michigan legend Denard Robinson and Florida icon Tim Tebow. EA Sports is yet to confirm the release date for College Football 26.
Love had an unbelievable sophomore year, recording 1,125 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns while also making 28 catches for 237 yards and two scores. The running back’s explosion helped Notre Dame return to the College Football Playoffs National Championship game for the first time since 2012.
However, the Fighting Irish fell to Ohio State 34-23 in the title clash, failing to recover from a slow start to suffer their only second loss of the entire campaign. Love has been named the top returning running back in the 2025 college football season by Pro Football Focus.
And Notre Dame should be among the CFP title contenders again next season with the program thriving under head coach Marcus Freeman. Love recently discussed how the camaraderie within the team convinced him to commit to the Fighting Irish in the first place.
“It was really the people,” he said in an appearance on SportsGrid’s YouTube channel. “I chose Notre Dame because the people were very welcoming since I stepped foot on campus.
“The coaches, I love the coaches. I love Coach Free and Coach McCullough, man, shoot. Everybody just welcomed me, and I felt like it was a home as soon as I stepped foot on campus. Like as soon as I stepped foot, I was like, man, I know I’m going to go here.”
