
Fort Pierce, FL– The Washington College Baseball Team took their final game in FL, 14-4 over Thiel.

How It Happened
- The Shoremen scored first in the top of the first inning off an unearned run. Thiel scored in the bottom of the inning and the score was tied, 1-1.
- The Shoremen put up six runs in the top of the next inning. Reese Hirsh led off, doubling to right center. He was advanced to third as Scooter SanFilippo singled to left field. Brady Wozniak earned an RBI batting in Hirsch as he grounded out to the second baseman. Matt Lewis earned his first RBI of the game as the next batter up, he singled to the left side sending SanFilippo home. The Shoremen were up, 3-1.
- Ty Everitt and Will Turner both singled in their at bats, Turner’s single allowed Lewis to score and advanced Everitt. Drew Kinsey was able sent a double down the left field line earning himself an RBI and putting the Shoremen up, 5-1. Chase Ruppel sacrifice flied and Kinsey was able to score earning the final two runs of the inning for the Shoremen.
- Thiel scored twice in the bottom of the second to move the score to 7-3.
- Lewis earned two more RBI in the top of the third as he doubled to right center. Lewis was able to score an unearned run as the Shoremen began their final push and led 10-3.
- The Shoremen scored their final four runs in the top of the fifth. Lewis earned his final RBI sending SanFilippo home as he singled through the right side. Turner, Kinsey, and Ruppel each earned an RBI in the sending the Shoremen up 11, 14-3.
- The final run was scored by Thiel in the bottom of the same inning but that was the last they would score as the Shoremen would take the game in seven innings, 14-4.
