5-star QB commit Dia Bell issues encouraging recruiting update regarding Longhorns’ future

Dia Bell makes an encouraging commitment to the Longhorns

With the start of the 2025 college football season only months away, the Longhorns’ future at QB is bright. They currently have Arch Manning leading the way, with highly regarded recruit Dia Bell arriving in 2026. While Bell is committed to the Longhorns, other programs haven’t given up on the idea of adding him to their offense.

On Saturday, Texas got encouraging news from Bell as rumors continued to swirl. Although Bell has been fielding calls, his commitment to the Longhorns has not changed.

“As of right now, I don’t have any plans to visit anyone else besides the University of Texas,” Bell told On3’s Steve Wiltfong

For the Longhorns, Bell’s comments are a reassuring sign. He is coming off one of the best seasons of his high school career. While leading Heritage High School, Bell was a human highlight reel. That has drawn interest from some of the top programs in the country, including LSU, Alabama, Ohio State, and Florida State.

Bell finished his junior campaign with 2,597 passing yards and 29 touchdowns. He also completed 70 percent of his passes and was a threat with his legs. Although Bell’s season was cut short by a leg injury, he was a dynamic player when he was healthy. Due to his skillset, Bell has been considered one of the nation’s best recruits over the last few years. While programs will do their best to flip Bell, it seems like, at the moment, his mind is made up. That is good news for the Longhorns, who have a bright future with Bell likely under center once it comes time for Manning to take his talents to the NFL.
