Alabama State vs. St. Francis (PA)
St. Francis ranks 92nd in opponent 3-point shooting percentage at 32.3%, which is significant given that Alabama State ranks 343rd in the nation in 2-point shooting percentage. Meanwhile, St. Francis (PA) ranks 118th in this category. Despite Alabama State committing the fewest turnovers per possession in games played away from home, the team still ranks just 234th in points per possession.

Chattanooga vs. Middle Tennessee
Chattanooga shoots 36.8% from 3-point range, ranking 38th in the country, while attempting 45.3% of their shots from beyond the arc—the 53rd-highest percentage in the nation. However, they face a Middle Tennessee defense that ranks 43rd in home 3-point shooting percentage defense, allowing opponents to make just 29.5% of their 3-point attempts. Additionally, Chattanooga’s tempo is not particularly fast, ranking 209th in possessions per game.

Saint Louis faces a significant disadvantage in the possession battle, ranking 334th in turnovers forced per possession on defense and 286th in turnovers committed per possession on offense. They also rank 352nd in offensive rebounding percentage, converting a low percentage of missed shots into second-chance opportunities. Meanwhile, Arkansas State’s defense is among the top 16 nationally in opponent 2-point and 3-point shooting percentage, and their offense ranks 84th in points per possession.

While 7-foot Magoon Gwath is expected to play for San Diego State (averaging 8.5 points and 2.5 blocks), he has not played since February 22 and may not be at full strength. This could allow a North Carolina team that ranks 44th in points per possession to remain effective.
