EA Sports to pay players $1,500 for opting in to College Football 26

EA Sports is giving players greater incentive to appear in its College Football video game series.

Players who opt in to College Football 26 will be paid at least $1,500 and will receive a Deluxe Edition copy of the game for a console of their choice, an EA Sports representative told CBS Sports’ Brandon Marcello. That amount is more than double the $600 compensation players received for allowing use of their name, image, and likeness in last year’s iteration of the game.

EA Sports has yet to announce any details about College Football 26 but did confirm that the game is due out this summer.

The college football video game series, which was previously known as NCAA Football, was revived last July, ending an 11-year hiatus. Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, Michigan running back Donovan Edwards, and Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter appeared on the College Football 25 cover.
