2 suspended, 2 injured after fight breaks out near PennWest Clairon

Two college football players at PennWest Clarion have been suspended from team activities after a fight broke-out off-campus over the weekend, resulting in two people being injured. That fight injured two teenagers near the campus of PennWest Clarion. Now, not only are the parents of the teenagers’ pressing charges, but they are also calling for more punishment from the university, going so far as to say those involved should be expelled.”They walked past the football house (as they call it) and the guys, as you can see in the video that they’re posting, are just doing push-ups for the guys and stuff. They were acting like they were friends (to my son and his friend walking by) by just feeding him alcohol. They then took his phone.” said Ryan Sloan about his son. That’s what Sloan says started the whole incident. His 17-year-old son Kalob, and his friend Gilbert, also 17, were hanging out in Clarion when they were invited into the home by PennWest football players. The taunting of the stolen phone then turning into a full-fledged attack.”So, they provided all the kids with alcohol and the next thing you know it turned into a fight,” said Junine Aeschbacher, whose son Gilbert was also attacked. Video from the attack has now been circulating on social media which is giving both parents more understanding of what exactly happened but also angering them even more. “I freaked out, that dude was huge and there were so many of them boys just beating on them,” said Aeschbacher. “I just, I don’t know how he kept getting up from all that. I mean seriously they put a beating on him,” said Sloan. Both Gilbert and Kalob sustained injuries and taken to the hospital. Kalob even sustained wounds consistent with being stabbed after one video shows a glass bottle being broken over his back. In a statement, PennWest Clarion says:”The university is aware of an incident of violence that occurred off campus over the weekend. Two students have been suspended from football team activities, pending further investigation. The university will follow the student conduct process and take appropriate action as needed. Pennwest does not tolerate acts of violence, and remains committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment.”But both parents say they aren’t happy with the response from the university and are now taking matters into their own hands “I am reaching out an attorney right now to see what the best steps to go, but I am going to be filing charges against these students that were involved in it,” said Aeschbacher.State police say an investigation is underway and that no charges have been filed at this time. The names of the players involved have not been made public.
