
No. 2 seed Tennessee (27-7) will play No. 15 seed Wofford (19-15) in the first round of the Midwest Region of the 2025 NCAA men’s basketball tournament.
Tipoff for the contest between the Vols and Terriers is slated for 6:50 p.m. EDT at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky.
The 2024-25 season marks Wofford’s sixth appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Terriers last made the tournament field during the 2018-19 season. Wofford holds an all time tournament record of 1-5, capturing their lone win over Seton Hall in 2019.
After Wofford defeated the Pirates, 84-68, the Terriers were eliminated by Kentucky in the second round, losing to the Wildcats, 62-56.
Wofford made consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament from 2010-11. In 2010, the Terriers lost to Wisconsin, 53-49. In 2011, BYU eliminated Wofford with a, 74-66, victory.
The Terriers, who won the 2025 Southern Conference Tournament, qualified for the NCAA Tournament following both the 2013-14 and 2014-15 campaigns. In 2014, Wofford lost to Michigan, 57-40, while Arkansas defeated the Terriers, 56-53, in the 2015 tournament.
