2025 MLB Draft Preview: Top College Baseball Prospects

(5 GS, 27.2 IP, 40 K, 3.90 ERA, 2.0 BB/9, 13.0 K/9)

The recent transfer of Anthony Eyanson to LSU is paying off so far for his draft stock. Standing at 6’2” and 195 pounds, Eyanson played the first two seasons of his collegiate career at UC San Diego, averaging over a nine K/9 with a walks per nine under 2.5. The fastball averages 95 mph and has topped out at 97 early in starts, but the difference maker is a 12-6 curveball that comes in at 78 mph with excellent movement. Eyanson has a slider that comes in at 84 mph with solid horizontal and vertical action that is most similar to a slurve in shape.

After a dominant first two outings this season against Purdue and Omaha, Eyanson hit a snag in week three against Nebraska. Across six innings he struck out seven, while allowing seven hits, one walk, and five earned runs, ultimately earning the win in an 11-6 win. This week, however, Eyanson bounced back strong against North Alabama, striking out 15 over seven innings pitched, allowing just two hits, two walks, and two earned runs, earning the win in a 6-2 finish.

Throughout his collegiate career, Eyanson has done a solid job limiting the walks, this season has been no exception as he currently has a solid two BB/9 while striking out a strong 13.0 K/9 across 27.2 innings pitched. Look for his draft stock to continue to climb as the season wears on.
