
Cayuga Community College baseball moved to 9-3 on the season Wednesday with a pair of wins over Onondaga Community College in a road doubleheader.
The Spartans earned their first win of the day by edging past the Lazers, 5-4. They scored 4 of those runs over the final three innings to lead them to the victory.
Isaac Allison pitched all seven innings, striking out four and allowing two earned runs on seven hits.
Kevin Dolan, Michael DeRosa, Jakson Ross and Alejandro Diaz each had an RBI, while Jeremy Recio led the team with two hits. Michael Blowers and Dolan posted one hit apiece. Ross scored twice, while Diaz, Blowers, and Recio touched home one time each.
Cayuga then capped of its day with a dominant 17-6 win in six innings. It scored 14 of those runs during the first four innings to overwhelm Onondaga.

On the mound, Andrew Seward surrendered two earned runs and three hits over his four innings.
Diaz paced the Spartans’ offense with a two-run home run, four runs scored, three hits and three RBIs. Jacob Laird concluded with a game-high four RBIs, three hits and one run scored.
Dylan Gordon had three RBIs, one hit and one run scored. Luca D’Emilio, Dolan, Blowers, Recio posted one RBI apiece.
“We’ve taken on the identity that we wanted for the season — a team that puts together good at-bats and looks for all opportunities we can to capitalize on,” Cayuga head coach John Rizzo said in a news release. “We have the mentality to succeed as we continue to clean up some parts of our game.”
