
Mississippi State baseball has won its first SEC game of the season.
The Bulldogs (15-7, 1-3 SEC) prevailed in a 2-1 pitching battle No. 9 Oklahoma (18-3, 2-2) on Friday.
MSU starter Pico Kohn threw six scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts — eight of which came consecutively. MSU took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a Bryce Chance RBI single and then added a second run on a sacrifice fly from Dylan Cupp.
Starting catcher Ross Highfill exited in the seventh inning with an injury and did not return after getting hit in the face with a pitch.
Luke Dotson earned the two-inning save.
