The NFL Network has announced that it will broadcast Colorado football’s “NFL Showcase” or pro day on April 4 at 2:30 p.m. ET (12:30 p.m. MT).
Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter and quarterback Shedeur Sanders are expected to participate in front of scouts from all 32 NFL teams.
The Buffs will also have 14 other draft-eligible players participating, including wide receivers LaJohntay Wester and Jimmy Horn Jr., as well as safety Shilo Sanders. The event will mark a crucial step in the draft process for Colorado draft eligibles, who will get one final opportunity to show their talents before the NFL draft.
“It’s phenomenal. We’re going to try to put on the best show possible for the fans and these young men,” head coach Deion Sanders said of the NFL Showcase last week. “To have [the players] in a capacity that they’re at peace, they’re at home, they could relax and just do what they’ve been gifted to do. So I’m excited for that. I really am because I know all 32 teams will be represented here. It’s going to be phenomenal for our program.”
After not participating in this year’s NFL combine, Shedeur Sanders and Hunter will have the opportunity to work out in front of NFL scouts and potentially boost their draft stock. The latest NFL Network mock draft has Sanders and Hunter going back-to-back at No. 3 and No. 4 overall.
According to CU athletics, the day will begin with players reporting for measurements and bench press before going to CU’s indoor practice facility for vertical and broad jump, 40-yard dash and shuttle drill. The day will continue in the afternoon with position drills for quarterbacks/wide receivers, offensive line, defensive backs, linebackers, defensive line and specialists.
