The UFL is back for a second season after the merger between the USFL and XFL, bringing football back to the table less than two months after Super Bowl 59.
Spring football is still very much in the experimental phase despite the UFL making progress in 2024. While attendance was slightly down, TV viewership was up. The league is likely still operating on a year-to-year basis, making 2025 a pivotal season.
The Birmingham Stallions enter 2025 as defending champions, having won the championship game over the San Antonio Brahmas in dominant fashion last season. With one UFL title and two USFL titles under their belt, the Stallions will be the hunted team this season.
Here’s a look at the quarterbacks and most notable players on UFL rosters in 2025.

UFL quarterbacks have combined for only three NFL starts, but college football fans may be more familiar with some of the names on UFL rosters.
Max Duggan was the 2022 Heisman Trophy runner-up and took TCU to the national championship game, threw for 3,618 yards, 32 touchdowns and eight interceptions in his senior season with the Horned Frogs but never entered an NFL game after the Chargers drafted him in the seventh round the following spring.
Matt Corral finished seventh in Heisman voting in 2021 after accounting for 31 touchdowns in his final season at Ole Miss, but he slipped to the third round of the 2021 draft and never appeared in an NFL game.
Spencer Sanders threw for 9,553 yards in four seasons at Oklahoma State before spending his final season behind Jaxson Dart on Ole Miss’ depth chart, while Kellen Mond accounted for 93 touchdowns over four seasons at Texas A&M.
Kevin Hogan last played college football a decade ago, but he threw for 75 touchdowns in four seasons at Stanford and led the Cardinal to a Pac-12 title in 2013.
NFL QBs in UFL
QB | NFL pass attempts | NFL starts |
Kevin Hogan | 101 | 1 |
Anthony Brown | 49 | 1 |
Bryce Perkins | 34 | 1 |
Kellen Mond | 3 | 0 |
Four quarterbacks on UFL rosters have appeared in an NFL game, but none have made more than one start. Kevin Hogan started a game for the Browns, while Anthony Brown earned a start with the Ravens and Bryce Perkins picked up a start with the Rams.
Kellen Mond, who attempted three passes during his time with the Vikings, is the only other UFL quarterback with in-game NFL experience.

Other notable UFL players
Damon Arnette, CB, Houston Roughnecks
Arnette was a surprise first-round pick of the Raiders in 2020, but he only appeared in 13 games with Las Vegas before his release in 2021. Off-field issues contributed heavily to Arnette’s quick fall out of the NFL, as he has been arrested multiple times and was released after a video surfaced showing him brandishing a gun and making threats.
Deandre Baker, CB, DC Defenders
Another unsuccessful first-round cornerback, Baker was selected No. 30 overall by the Giants in 2019 and started 15 of 16 games in his rookie season. The Georgia product was arrested on armed robbery charges in 2020 and later released by the Giants, but he latched on with the Chiefs and spent two seasons in Kansas City after the charges were dropped.
Rodrigo Blankenship, K, St. Louis Battlehawks
Also a Georgia standout, Blankenship appeared in 24 NFL games, including 22 with the Colts. He made 86.5 percent of field goal attempts in 2020 but missed most of the 2021 season and was waived early in the 2022 season.
Blankenship earned the nickname, “Specs,” for his signature black glasses he wears during games.
Tae Crowder, LB, Birmingham Stallions
Yet another Georgia product, Crowder was a seventh-round pick of the Giants in 2020 but became a full-time starter for New York in 2021 and made 31 starts over three seasons with the team. He last appeared in an NFL game in 2023, and he can impress his Stallions teammates by telling them about the time he intercepted Jalen Hurts in 2021.
Cameron Dantzler, CB, Memphis Showboats
Dantzler was a third-round pick of the Vikings in 2020 and started 10 of his 11 games as a rookie. The Virginia Tech product made 26 starts over three seasons in Minnesota and recorded three interceptions.
Marquette King, P, Arlington Renegades
King spent five seasons as the Raiders’ punter from 2013 through 2017, leading the NFL in yards per punt in 2013 and earning second-team All-Pro honors in 2016. King has played in the NFL in 2018, but he’s been a spring football mainstay in the 2020s.
Denzel Mims, WR, St. Louis Battlehawks
The Jets were thrilled to see Denzel Mims fall to them near the end of the second round in a 2020 draft loaded with wide receiver talent, but Mims simply didn’t pan out. The Baylor standout posted only 676 yards in three seasons in New York, never finding the end zone, and he never appeared in a game with another NFL team.
Amari Rodgers, WR, Birmingham Stallions
Rodgers was another draft disappointment at the wide receiver position, as the Packers selected him No. 85 overall out of Clemson in 2021 only to see him record eight catches in a Green Bay uniform. Rodgers last played in the NFL in 2023 and had only 20 total receptions, though he saw some work as a returner.
Jace Sternberger, TE, Birmingham Stallions
Sternberger was also a third-round pick of the Packers two years before Rodgers, and he never turned into the tight end Green Bay was hoping he would be. After a catch-less rookie season, Sternberger had 114 yards and a touchdown on 12 catches in 2020 and never appeared in an NFL game beyond that season.
Greg Ward Jr., WR, San Antonio Brahmas
A standout quarterback at Houston, Ward converted to wide receiver in the NFL and latched on with the Eagles, starting 10 games when Philadelphia was short on healthy receivers in 2020. Ward totaled 768 yards and 10 touchdowns in three seasons in Philadelphia, and he was on the receiving end of Jalen Hurts’ first NFL touchdown pass.
Greedy Williams, CB, San Antonio Brahmas
Once considered a first-round prospect, Williams slipped to the second round of the 2019 draft and landed with the Browns in what Cleveland thought would be a boost to its secondary. Williams did start 12 games as a rookie, but he missed all of 2020 due to injury and only started nine games over the following two seasons.
Brad Wing, P, San Antonio Brahmas
A spring football staple over the last few years, Wing spent three seasons as the Giants’ punter from 2015-17 and appeared in 18 more games with the Steelers, including two as recently as 2023.
