1. Texas A&M‘s quarterback position revolves around Marcel Reed who had a quality 2024 campaign. However, while I wanted to watch film of him to see how he has progressed since last year, A&M also has a number of newcomers and young guys that are worth watching as well.
2. Reed is a very athletic guy and that comes out in the nuances of how he throws the football. He gets back and set very quickly which enables him to start going through his progressions more quickly. His feet are underneath his pads early on in his drops. Reed seems to hold the ball a little higher after the snap comes to him these days which should speed up his delivery.
3. Reed has been a quarterback who has an elongated delivery, with a tendency to drop his elbow when he brings the ball back and then following through over the top of his delivery like a baseball pitcher. This means that the ball comes out a tick slower and can negate what he does when he sets up. It does seem to be somewhat more compact than it was in 2024.
