College Football teams are expected to field 105 players on its roster with as many of those 105 total players being on scholarship as the school would like. The expanded scholarships however take away roster spots for players who historically have been walk-ons at schools across the country. The Oregon Ducks will have all of spring and into fall camp to find their way to the 105 roster limit.
Currently, the Ducks are below the 105 number at 103, but have more than a handful of players who signed with the Ducks out of high school or via the transfer portal yet to enroll. The Ducks’ roster number will exceed the 105-man limit once everyone enrolls, but the roster numbers can be finalized down the road. The NCAA Transfer Portal window will also open up on April 16th of this month and then close on April 25th. Players who have graduated college will have the ability to enter the portal beyond those dates if they choose to do so, and all players would be able to enter the portal for 30 days following a head coaching change.
For now, the Ducks are hovering right around the expected 105-man roster number. Here is where the roster shakes out from a positional outlook based on how the Ducks list each player on their official roster. A player with an * next to their name means the player is currently a walk-on athlete.
