College football programs are two to three weeks into spring practice, and the season will be upon us within the blink of an eye. Teams still have five months until then to fine-tune their rosters with one more transfer portal available.
Ole Miss utilized the winter transfer portal very well, adding some top names to their roster that was depleted with double-digit players heading to the NFL Draft. Like last season, they will look at the spring portal to add to areas Lane Kiffin feels need strengthening.
When does spring transfer portal open?
The spring transfer portal window opens on April 16 and closes on April 25, 2025. The window is open for 10 days, which is shorter than previously, with both the winter and spring portals being reduced by 15 days combined.
Players can officially enter the portal between the two dates to be valid to transfer. However, once in the portal, they can transfer to another program after April 25 if the paperwork has been completed.

Spring transfer portal window: April 16, 2025-April 25, 2025
Ole Miss currently sits 3rd in the transfer portal rankings, according to 247Sports. They are just behind LSU and Texas Tech, who have had solid windows. However, the Rebels could jump LSU again, adding more players in the spring as they did in 2024.
If you go with what Lane Kiffin has said about his roster, the defensive back positions are an area that needs adding. The Rebels brought in a great recruiting class, with some high-quality players at cornerback and safety. However, some experience would be good in those areas to go alongside the young talent.
Players have started to announce they plan to enter the transfer portal, but no official moves can be made until April 16.
