The 2024-25 season is a wrap. Congrats to the comeback kings, the Florida Gators on an impressive push through the bracket. Even though the games are done, the coaching carousel still needs to fill a few spots.
Since late February, I’ve been tracking and updating this space with job swappage across college hoops. We are at 52 changes — 53 if you count Saint Francis, which is ironically leaving D-I in the coming years after the heartwarming way it made the 2025 NCAAs. With six vacancies still left to fill, we may not be done with this year’s cycle.
The final high-major job filled on April 4 when Texas A&M hired Bucky McMillan away from Samford on a six-year deal. A&M opened after Buzz Williams moved to Maryland following Kevin Willard’s turbulent exodus to Villanova. In total, we’ve had 14 flips in the five power conferences in this cycle. That’s more than I expected, and in fact matches the number from 2024.
