Texas A&M will look to extend its win streak to four games on Thursday with a win over South Carolina as the teams begins an SEC series in college baseball action.
The South Carolina Gamecocks will travel to Bryan-College Station for the weekend to take on the Texas A&M Aggies in an SEC series at Blue Bell Park. The Gamecocks come into the weekend with an overall record of 20-14, but have struggled in conference play and are only 2-10 against SEC opponents for a spot in 14th place in the standings. After dropping a series against Mississippi State over the weekend, the team bounced back to earn a 13-3 win over USC Upstate on Tuesday in seven innings. Dalton Mashore opened the game in style, hitting a grand slam in the first inning to give the Gamecocks a 4-0 lead. Ethan Petry fired a two-run shot left center in the second inning to make it a 2-0 game before USC Upstate could even get on the board. Jackson Soucie earned the win on the mound with three innings of work in which he struck out three batters to improve to 3-0 on the season.

The Aggies are flying high this week after winning a series against then-No. 1 Tennessee over the weekend and then beating Sam Houston on Tuesday in a big 14-1 win in just seven innings. Caden Mccoy was credited with the win over Sam Houston with one inning of work in which he struck out two batters. The team spread the scoring out with Caden Sorrell, Bear Harrison, Kaeden Kent and Blake Binderup each bringing home two runs and Wyatt Henseler, Matt Bergevin, Ben Royo and Hayden Schott each bringing in one. Binderup and Sorrell were the only two Aggies with extra base hits in the win, but with the bats hot, it didn’t matter and the team was able to pull out their third win in a row.
South Carolina and Texas A&M have met a total of 24 times and the series is all tied up at 12 wins apiece. When the teams met last season in SEC play, Texas A&M took two out of the three games to earn the series win on the road.
