Watch VP JD Vance fumble college football national championship trophy after it falls apart

The Ohio State football team visited the White House to celebrate its 2024 national championship on Monday, but one prominent member of the Trump administration had a little trouble with the trophy.

Vice president JD Vance tried to lift the College Football Playoff National Championship trophy along with Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson at one point during the celebration. The trophy didn’t cooperate, however, breaking into multiple pieces, with the base falling onto the floor.

Here’s video, via White House reporter Philip Wegmann:

Vance is an Ohio native and Ohio State graduate who served as a senator from his home state prior to being elected along with Trump last November. He received his undergraduate degree from Ohio State in 2009 prior to attending law school at Yale.
