Key staffer leaving Ole Miss to join LSU football recruiting department

LSU football added to its recruiting and personnel staff on Monday, hiring Jai Choudhary away from Ole Miss. 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz and On3’s Pete Nakos both reported the news.

Choudary served as Ole Miss’ assistant director of player personnel. At LSU, Choudary is set to take the title of associate director of player personnel.

Choudary got his start working for USC football — his alma mater. He’s spent the last several years at Ole Miss, working his way through the ranks after starting in Oxford as a graduate assistant.

At LSU, Choudary will be reunited with LSU senior associate AD for football administration Austin Thomas. The two previously worked together at Ole Miss. Under Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss has been one of the premier players in NIL and the transfer portal. Thomas and Choudary both played a role in that.

LSU’s personnel department will have a new look this year as the Tigers adapt to the ever-changing landscape of college football.

Earlier this year, LSU promoted JR Belton to director of football operations and Donovan Tate to director of recruiting.
