Earlier this week, Collin College women’s basketball player Alisha Nunley was named to the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Division I Women’s Basketball All-America First Team.
Nunley, a guard, has scored 18 points per game with two 35-point games early in the season, landing her North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Year, All-Region V and All-Conference.
This is the third year in a row that a Collin College basketball player has been named an All-American and fourth time in five years that a Collin College athlete has been honored, according to a press release. Waiata Jennings and Mackenzie Buss were named to the All-American teams in 2024, and Rafal Bednarczuk was named for tennis in 2021.
The Collin College women’s basketball team ranked third in the conference behind McLennan Community College and Grayson College this season.
