April 12 marked the one-year anniversary of Mark Pope being hired by Kentucky. He got a late start last year due to John Calipari’s delayed exit from Lexington, so the 2025 Kentucky basketball offseason brings more stability as Pope crafts his second Kentucky basketball roster. Five of his six leading scorers from last year are out of eligibility, but Pope has more options to replace them this year as he recruits and builds through the Kentucky basketball transfer portal. What will the 2025-26 Kentucky basketball lineup look like, and who are the top Kentucky basketball recruits still on the board? Kentucky basketball roster news

One domino that Kentucky continues to wait on is 2024-25 leading scorer Otega Oweh, who does have eligibility remaining, but could also explore the NBA Draft. Originally a transfer from Oklahoma, Oweh led the Wildcats with 16.2 points per game last season.

Pope hasn’t added five-star prep recruits the way that Calipari did, but he does have a pair of top-30 ranked players signed in the incoming recruiting class in center Malachi Moreno and guard Jasper Johnson. They’re joined by international player Andrija Jelavic, who has committed but not yet signed.

The Wildcats have landed four players in the transfer portal thus far: center Jayden Quaintance, forward Mouhamed Dioubate, guard Jaland Lowe and forward Cam Williams. Quaintance, who originally committed to Kentucky when Calipari was there, is the highest-ranked of that bunch and he’s a possible 2026 NBA Draft lottery pick. Get the latest Kentucky basketball roster news at CatsPause.
